Oyabe is located at the western end of Toyama, by the Ishikawa prefectural border, making it easy to get to no matter how you plan on traveling.
By Car

Oyabe is particularly well served by Japan’s expressways, and having a car can be very convenient for getting around Oyabe once you’re here. From Tokyo, take the Kan-Etsu Expressway to the Joshin-Etsu Expressway (roughly 6 hours). From Osaka, take the Meishin Expressway to the Hokuriku Expressway (roughly 3 hours). From Nagoya, visitors can simply take the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway directly to Oyabe (roughly 3 hours).
By Train

From Tokyo, take the JR Hokuriku Shinkansen line to Toyama Station (roughly 2.5 hours). From Osaka, take the JR Thunderbird Limited Express to Tsuruga, and transfer there to the JR Hokuriku Shinkansen line to Toyama Station (roughly 3 hours). From Nagoya, take the JR Tokaido Shinkansen line to Maibara, then transfer to a Shirasagi Limited Express to Tsuruga; transfer there to the JR Hokuriku Shinkansen line to Toyama Station (roughly 3 hours).
From Toyama Station, take the Ainokaze Toyama Railway to Isurugi Station (roughly 35 minutes). Isurugi Station is Oyabe’s main train station, and it’s conveniently located many shops and restaurants.
By Plane

Flights are available to Toyama Kitokito Airport from many locations, including Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (roughly 1 hour nonstop flight). Buses connect the airport to Toyama Station with a roughly 30-minute ride. From Toyama Station, take the Ainokaze Toyama Railway to Isurugi Station (roughly 35 minutes).
